11th percentile - higher than 11% of all known CVEs

Summary

vantage6 version 5.0.2 and earlier has an algorithm-store edit permission lacking an ownership check, allowing one algorithm developer to alter another developer's algorithm while it is pending or under review. The attacker can change metadata including the algorithm image or image tag, causing reviewers and nodes to trust a different image from the one originally submitted. No fixed version is available as of this review.

Risk Assessment

The ability to swap algorithm images could lead to execution of malicious code in data processing environments, threatening the integrity of analyses and data confidentiality.

Recommendation

Restrict algorithm edit permissions to owners and monitor changes to algorithms; follow vendor updates for a patch.
