CVE-2026-73178

HighCVSS 7.5
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

A vulnerability in Apache Syncope allows an administrator with adequate entitlements to access via REST the list of existing Access Tokens, including their signed JWT body. These tokens can then be used for further REST requests, impersonating users with higher administration privileges.

Risk Assessment

The organization is at risk of privilege escalation and unauthorized access because JWT tokens can be reused to impersonate higher-privileged administrators, potentially compromising data confidentiality and integrity.

Recommendation

Upgrade Apache Syncope to version 4.0.8 or 4.1.3 immediately, which fix the issue. After upgrading, consider rotating all existing access tokens as a precaution.
