CVE-2026-73176
HighCVSS 8.6Summary
A CWE-78: Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an OS Command ('OS Command Injection') vulnerability exists in the web management interface of Advantech EKI-1242IEIMS in firmware version V1.06.01 that allows a remote authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary OS commands as root via crafted request parameters.
Risk Assessment
An attacker with valid credentials can execute arbitrary commands as root, leading to full device compromise. This may result in persistent compromise and use of the device as an entry point into the industrial network.
Recommendation
Restrict access to the web interface to trusted networks only and immediately upgrade the firmware to a version containing the fix. Also change default credentials and monitor for unusual requests.
