CVE-2026-71981
HighCVSS 8.8Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk45th percentile - higher than 45% of all known CVEs
Summary
Cypht before 2.12.2 contains a PHP object injection vulnerability allowing authenticated attackers to execute arbitrary OS commands via a crafted PHP object graph in the back_query GET parameter of the logout handler. Attackers can pass a base64-encoded serialized payload, decoded and passed directly to unserialize() without allow-list, signature check, or type restriction, enabling gadget-chain exploitation for RCE as the web server process.
Risk Assessment
An authenticated attacker can execute arbitrary commands on the server, leading to full application compromise and potentially the entire system.
Recommendation
Upgrade Cypht to 2.12.2 or later and restrict application access to trusted users only.
