Summary

A weakness has been identified in Zod jsVideoUrlParser up to 0.5.1, affecting the getTime function in lib/util.js. Manipulation of the timestamp argument causes inefficient regular expression complexity, which can be exploited remotely. The exploit has been made publicly available.

Risk Assessment

A remote attacker could exploit the inefficient regular expression complexity to cause a denial of service (ReDoS), overloading the application.

Recommendation

Update Zod jsVideoUrlParser to a version later than 0.5.1 or apply the vendor patch. Until then, restrict processing of untrusted input through the getTime function.
