Summary

A vulnerability in Capgo before version 12.128.2 allows unauthenticated attackers to use the RPC functions get_user_id and get_org_perm_for_apikey to validate API keys and disclose user UUIDs. Using the public API key, attackers can verify leaked keys, enumerate users and apps, and determine permission levels.

Risk Assessment

The risk is a significant increase in the actionability of compromised credentials, potentially leading to unauthorized access to data and systems, and escalation of attacks against the organization.

Recommendation

Immediately upgrade Capgo to version 12.128.2 or later, which fixes this vulnerability. Additionally, restrict access to RPC functions and monitor logs for suspicious queries.

Original NVD description (English source)

Capgo before 12.128.2 contains unauthenticated security definer RPC functions get_user_id and get_org_perm_for_apikey that expose API key validity oracles and user UUID disclosure. Unauthenticated attackers using the public API key can validate leaked keys, enumerate users and apps, and determine permission levels, significantly increasing the actionability of compromised credentials.
