CVE-2026-4837
MediumCVSS 6.6Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk34th percentile - higher than 34% of all known CVEs
Summary
An eval() injection vulnerability in the Rapid7 Insight Agent beaconing logic for Linux versions could theoretically allow an attacker to achieve remote code execution as root via a crafted beacon response. Because the Agent uses mutual TLS (mTLS) to verify commands from the Rapid7 Platform, exploitation is unlikely without prior, highly privileged access to the backend platform.
Risk Assessment
Risk of remote code execution with root privileges, but requires privileged access to the Rapid7 platform. Nevertheless, the vulnerability poses a serious threat.
Recommendation
Update Rapid7 Insight Agent to the latest version. Restrict access to the backend platform and monitor beacon responses.
