CVE-2026-48211

MediumCVSS 5.4
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

An authenticated administrator can be induced to delete administrative Import/Export templates through a CSRF attack. The AdminImportExport::TemplateDelete action does not validate the ChallengeToken, allowing an unauthenticated remote attacker to execute a malicious request with the privileges of an active administrator session. This affects OTRS 7.0.X, 8.0.X, 2023.X, 2024.X, 2025.X, and 2026.X before 2026.7.X, as well as Community Edition 6.x and earlier.

Risk Assessment

A CSRF attack can lead to unauthorized deletion of important configuration templates, disrupting system operations. The risk concerns data integrity and continuity of administrative operations.

Recommendation

Update OTRS to version 2026.7.X or later. Additionally, implement CSRF protection mechanisms such as token validation and educate administrators about the risks.
