HighCVSS 7.5
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

Suricata (network IDS/IPS and security monitoring engine) versions 8.0.0 through before 8.0.5 can deadlock in its IP defragmentation code when processing fragmented traffic containing an encapsulated tunnel protocol whose payload is itself fragmented. Version 8.0.5 contains a fix.

Risk Assessment

A deadlock in the Suricata engine can halt traffic analysis and cause denial of service for network monitoring. No known workarounds are available other than upgrading.

Recommendation
