Summary

ERPNext prior to 15.104.3 and 16.12.0 contains an improper restriction of XML external entity (XXE) reference in the EDI Module, enabling an authenticated attacker to read files from the local file system, including sensitive configuration files. Fixed in 15.104.3 and 16.12.0.

Risk Assessment

An authenticated attacker could access sensitive configuration files, potentially leading to further escalation and data disclosure. This violates system confidentiality.
