MediumCVSS 6.8Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Elevated risk62th percentile - higher than 62% of all known CVEs
Summary
A command injection vulnerability was found in TP-Link TL-WR802N v4, TL-WR841N v14, and TL-WR840N v6 routers. The configuration import function allows an authenticated attacker to upload a crafted configuration file, leading to OS command execution with root privileges during port-trigger processing.
Risk Assessment
Successful exploitation enables an attacker to fully compromise the device, potentially intercepting network traffic, altering configurations, or using the router as an entry point into the organization's internal network.
Recommendation
Immediately update the firmware of affected TP-Link routers to the latest version and restrict administrative panel access to trusted IP addresses only.
