Summary

In the Linux kernel, a vulnerability was resolved in erofs: set fileio bio failed in short read case. For file-backed mount, IO requests are handled by vfs_iocb_iter_read(), which can be interrupted by SIGKILL, returning the number of bytes actually copied; unused folios in bio are unexpectedly marked as uptodate.

Risk Assessment

This may lead to incorrect in-memory data state and potential errors or data corruption when mounting erofs images from files.

Recommendation

Update the Linux kernel to a version containing the fix.
