Summary

The /dev/crypto device driver in cryptodev-linux version 1.14 and earlier has a page reference counting flaw in the get_userbuf function. This allows local users to trigger use-after-free conditions by repeatedly decrementing page reference counts.

Risk Assessment

An attacker with access to the /dev/crypto interface can escalate privileges locally, potentially leading to full system compromise.

Recommendation

Immediately update cryptodev-linux to a version later than 1.14, which includes a fix for this vulnerability.
