CVE-2026-20885
HighCVSS 7.0Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk5th percentile - higher than 5% of all known CVEs
Summary
Improper authentication in the Intel(R) TDX module for some Intel platforms within Ring 0: Trust Domain may allow information disclosure and privilege escalation. A privileged user with a high complexity attack may enable escalation. This may occur via local access without user interaction. Confidentiality and integrity impact are high, availability low.
Risk Assessment
Information disclosure and privilege escalation could lead to breaches of confidentiality and integrity in trusted environments.
Recommendation
Update the Intel TDX module and platform firmware, and restrict access to trusted environments.
Original NVD description (English source)
Improper authentication in the Intel(R) TDX module for some Intel(R) platforms within Ring 0: Trust Domain may allow an information disclosure and escalation of privilege. System software adversary with a privileged user combined with a high complexity attack may enable escalation of privilege. This result may potentially occur via local access when attack requirements are present without special internal knowledge and requires no user interaction. The potential vulnerability may impact the confidentiality (high), integrity (high) and availability (none) of the vulnerable system, resulting in subsequent system confidentiality (low), integrity (low) and availability (none) impacts.
