CVE-2026-20038

MediumCVSS 5.8
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

A vulnerability in the endpoint group (EPG) contract functionality of Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Fabric Switches in ACI Mode could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass configured EPG contracts. The issue is due to improper control with EPG contracts. An attacker could exploit this by sending IPv4 or IPv6 packets using UDP source and destination ports assigned to DHCP traffic, allowing bypass of EPG contracts.

Risk Assessment

The risk is that an attacker can bypass network security controls and EPG contracts, potentially leading to unauthorized access or policy violations in the ACI environment.

Recommendation

Apply the Cisco update and review EPG contract configurations for anomalies. Monitor DHCP traffic for unusual patterns.
