CVE-2026-19668

MediumCVSS 5.3
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

A BIND recursive resolver may experience excessive resource consumption if it encounters large numbers of a particular kind of invalid DNSSEC record. Default limits on max-records-per-type and max-types-per-name help mitigate the exposure.

Risk Assessment

An attacker could cause excessive resource consumption on the resolver, leading to DNS service degradation or denial of service.

Recommendation

Update BIND 9 to a fixed version and ensure max-records-per-type and max-types-per-name limits are set to safe values.
