CVE-2026-1880
MediumCVSS 5.4Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk4th percentile - higher than 4% of all known CVEs
Summary
An Incorrect Permission Assignment for Critical Resource vulnerability in the ASUS DriverHub update process allows privilege escalation due to improper protection of required execution resources during the validation phase. This permits a local user to make unprivileged modifications, allowing the altered resource to pass system checks and be executed with elevated privileges upon a user-initiated update.
Risk Assessment
A local user can gain elevated privileges, potentially leading to full system compromise.
Recommendation
Install the ASUS DriverHub security update as per the ASUS Security Advisory (see 'Security Update for ASUS DriverHub' section).
