Summary

The Wow Elements Addons for Elementor plugin in versions up to and including 1.11.2 is vulnerable to Server-Side Request Forgery due to the plugin passing user-controlled input from the 'Changelog File' setting directly to the wp_remote_get function without adequate validation or sanitization of the URL. Authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access and above can make web requests to arbitrary locations originating from the web application, which can be used to query and modify information from internal services.

Risk Assessment

An attacker can access internal services and systems, potentially leading to disclosure of sensitive information or further attacks. This can compromise the security of internal infrastructure.

Recommendation

Update the Wow Elements Addons for Elementor plugin to a version later than 1.11.2. Until then, restrict Contributor privileges and monitor for unusual outbound requests.
