Summary

The WP Multilang – Translation and Multilingual Plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the post content in all versions up to, and including, 2.4.31 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.

Risk Assessment

An authenticated low-privileged user can inject malicious scripts that execute in other users' browsers. This may lead to session theft, defacement, or malware distribution.

Recommendation

Update the WP Multilang plugin to a version later than 2.4.31. Additionally, consider restricting Contributor roles and implementing security headers such as Content-Security-Policy.
