Summary

A confused-deputy flaw in Grafana MCP Server allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to exfiltrate the server's environment-configured Grafana service-account token by supplying a crafted X-Grafana-URL request header. This also enables SSRF against arbitrary internal services, including cloud metadata endpoints.

Risk Assessment

The risk includes unauthorized access to Grafana resources with the stolen token's privileges and the ability to perform SSRF attacks on internal systems, potentially leading to sensitive data leakage and lateral movement within the internal network.

Recommendation

Immediately update Grafana MCP Server to the latest patched version and restrict trusted sources of the X-Grafana-URL header using firewall or proxy rules.
