Summary

A path traversal vulnerability was discovered in the run_project component of godot-mcp version 2.0.0. The validatePath function fails to properly sanitize the projectPath argument, allowing a local attacker to access files outside the intended directory. A public exploit increases the risk of exploitation.

Risk Assessment

The organization is at risk of unauthorized file read or write by a local attacker, potentially leading to data leakage or privilege escalation.

Recommendation

Immediately upgrade godot-mcp to version 3.0.0, which includes the fix (commit eb63add552aa4bd9205395cf91b40654654a3cf2).
