Summary
The Loco Translate plugin for WordPress up to version 2.8.7 is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via PO File Extracted Comments. Insufficient input sanitization and output escaping allow authenticated attackers with translator-level access to inject arbitrary web scripts that execute when a user accesses an injected page.
Risk Assessment
The organization may face session theft, phishing, or other client-side attacks. Injected pages can undermine user trust.
Recommendation
Update the Loco Translate plugin to the latest version. Restrict translator privileges and regularly scan PO files for malicious code.
