Summary

In KServe, a namespace-scoped user with create/update permissions on InferenceService resources can supply a malicious storageUri. This SSRF vulnerability lets the storage-initializer init container issue arbitrary outbound HTTP/HTTPS requests from inside the cluster.

Risk Assessment

This can lead to information disclosure, including theft of the node's IAM role credentials or access to internal cluster services.

Recommendation

Update KServe to a patched version, restrict InferenceService creation permissions, and enforce egress network controls.
