CVE-2026-13162

HighCVSS 7.7
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

An OS command vulnerability exists in CoreTec product that allows authenticated users with certain roles to execute arbitrary system commands with full control over the device. The configuration daemon's time synchronization handler constructs a shell command by concatenating user-supplied input without sanitization or validation.

Risk Assessment

Could lead to full device compromise by an authenticated user with the required privileges. High risk to confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Recommendation

Update CoreTec to a patched version or restrict roles allowed to configure the time zone. Implement input validation and sanitization in the configuration daemon.
