Low risk19th percentile - higher than 19% of all known CVEs
Summary
The Kadence Blocks plugin for WordPress up to version 3.7.7 fails to properly verify user authorization, allowing authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to create arbitrary Media Library attachments. Risk Assessment
The organization is at risk of unauthorized file uploads, which could lead to disk space exhaustion, injection of malicious files, or the server being used to host illegal content.
Recommendation
Immediately update the Kadence Blocks plugin to the latest available version that includes a fix for the authorization bypass vulnerability.
Other vulnerabilities in Kadence Blocks
See all- CVE-2026-66696Medium
A Sensitive Data Exposure vulnerability at the contributor level in the Gutenberg Blocks by Kadence Blocks plugin (versions up to 3.7.8) allows a user with the contributor role to access sensitive data that should not be available to them.
- CVE-2026-18062Medium
The Kadence Blocks plugin for WordPress up to version 3.7.8.1 contains a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the Identity Block Inner Image Content. This is due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping, allowing authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts.
- CVE-2026-12904Medium
The Kadence Blocks plugin for WordPress up to version 3.7.7 is vulnerable to Insecure Direct Object Reference (IDOR). The authorization check uses a user-supplied post_id, but the actual read/delete operations on optimizer analysis records are performed using a hash of the post_path, which can be manipulated by the attacker. This allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to read or delete analysis records belonging to other users' posts.
- CVE-2026-2826Medium
The Kadence Blocks plugin for WordPress up to version 3.6.3 has an authorization bypass in the process_pattern REST API endpoint, which does not properly verify the upload_files capability. Authenticated attackers with contributor level access or above can upload images to the Media Library by supplying remote image URLs.
Original NVD description (English source)
The Kadence Blocks — Page Builder Toolkit for Gutenberg Editor plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authorization bypass in all versions up to, and including, 3.7.7. This is due to the plugin not properly verifying that a user is authorized to perform an action. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to create arbitrary Media Library attachments by downloading remote images to the site's uploads directory via wp_upload_bits() and wp_insert_attachment(), bypassing the upload_files capability boundary.
