CVE-2026-12544

HighCVSS 7.7
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

A flaw was found in Foreman's foreman-rake initialization logic in /usr/share/foreman/config/settings.rb, where configuration data is processed through two distinct executable layers. This enables Server-Side Template Injection (SSTI) and insecure deserialization, potentially leading to remote code execution.

Risk Assessment

Exploitation can lead to total infrastructure compromise and supply chain risk, as an attacker gains the ability to execute arbitrary code on the Foreman server.

Recommendation

Immediately update Foreman to a patched version and restrict access to foreman-rake to trusted administrators only.

Original NVD description (English source)

A flaw was found in Foreman. The foreman-rake initialization logic in /usr/share/foreman/config/settings.rb contains a vulnerable code pattern where configuration data is processed through two distinct executable layers. This creates a multi-stage execution chain that allows for both Server-Side Template Injection (SSTI) and insecure deserialization. This vulnerability can lead to remote code execution, total infrastructure compromise and supply chain risk.
