CVE-2026-121959

MediumCVSS 6.5
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

FreeRDP before 3.32.2 contains an infinite loop vulnerability in websocket_context_read that fails to handle a zero BIO result with payload outstanding. A malicious RD Gateway can send a truncated WebSocket frame followed by a TLS close_notify, causing a client thread to spin and consume CPU until killed.

Risk Assessment

An attacker can cause a denial of service on the FreeRDP client, exhausting CPU resources and making the application unavailable. This requires connecting to a malicious RD Gateway.

Recommendation

Update FreeRDP to version 3.32.2 or later, which fixes this vulnerability. Consider limiting trust to RD Gateway servers in your environment.
