CVE-2026-120432

HighCVSS 7.8
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

Netpbm before 10.86.51, 11.02.30, and 11.15.08 contains an integer overflow vulnerability in winicontopam. Attackers can supply a crafted icon file with width or height above 32767, wrapping int16_t loop counters into negative row buffer indices, leading to heap memory corruption.

Risk Assessment

This can cause crashes or potential code execution in the context of the image processing process. Organizations processing untrusted ICO/CUR files are exposed to remote attacks.

Recommendation

Update Netpbm to version 10.86.51, 11.02.30, or 11.15.08 (or later). Avoid processing untrusted icon files until the update is applied.
