Summary

The WP2Social Auto Publish plugin for WordPress (versions up to and including 2.4.12) is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via admin settings due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows authenticated attackers with administrator-level permissions and above to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages that execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This only affects multi-site installations and installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled.

Risk Assessment

An attacker with administrator privileges can inject persistent JavaScript that executes for all visitors, potentially leading to session theft or account takeover. It requires admin privileges, but in multisite installations it could be used for escalation.

Recommendation

Update the WP2Social Auto Publish plugin to a version newer than 2.4.12. Until then, consider limiting the number of administrators and reviewing plugin settings.
