Summary

Moodle 5.3.0, 5.2.0 through 5.2.4, 5.1.0 through 5.1.8, 5.0.0 through 5.0.11, and through 4.5.15 contain an sql injection vulnerability in the External database enrolment plugin via course idnumber. Attackers can read database data and manipulate enrolment results, potentially leading to data integrity breaches and unauthorized access to information.

Recommendation

Update Moodle to a version containing the fix. Until then, restrict course editing permissions and monitor for unusual idnumber values.
