CVE-2026-117341

HighCVSS 7.7
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

In Octopus Server, creating a user invitation writes the invitation code to the audit event log. A user in the linked space with appropriate permissions could read the code and redeem the unclaimed invitation to escalate privileges, depending on the permissions assigned to the invited user.

Risk Assessment

Unauthorized privilege escalation may occur if the invitation code is exposed to a user with audit access. The risk depends on the permission level assigned to the invitation.

Recommendation

Update Octopus Server to a version that does not log invitation codes in audit events and restrict access to audit logs. Consider revoking unclaimed invitations.

Original NVD description (English source)

In affected versions of Octopus Server, creating a user invitation writes the invitation code to the audit event log. When the invitation is linked to a space, a user in that space with appropriate permissions could read the code from the audit event. Successfully exploiting this by redeeming the unclaimed invitation could allow the user to escalate privileges however this is dependant on the permissions assigned for the invited user.
