CVE-2026-116734

LowCVSS 3.7
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Exploitation Probability (EPSS)

Low risk
0.38%

32th percentile - higher than 32% of all known CVEs

Summary

flatcc through 0.6.4 contains an integer overflow vulnerability in the check_header function of the FlatBuffers verifier because its overflow guard is dead code. On 32-bit builds, attackers can supply a crafted buffer offset that wraps the bounds check, causing an out-of-bounds read before the buffer and crashing the process.

Risk Assessment

Can lead to application crashes (denial of service) on 32-bit systems processing untrusted FlatBuffers data. In some scenarios, memory information disclosure may be possible.

Recommendation

Upgrade flatcc to a version newer than 0.6.4 or apply the vendor patch. Avoid processing untrusted FlatBuffers in 32-bit builds until updated.
