Summary

ImageMagick before 6.9.13-58 and 7.x before 7.1.2-33 contains an injection vulnerability in the MVG encoder that does not properly neutralize user-specified drawing options before writing them into generated MVG output. Attackers can inject arbitrary MVG drawing commands into the resulting file.

Risk Assessment

MVG command injection can lead to unexpected behavior or security policy bypass when generated files are processed. Organizations generating MVG files from user input are exposed.

Recommendation

Update ImageMagick to version 6.9.13-58 or 7.1.2-33 (or later). Validate and restrict user-supplied drawing options before generating MVG files.
