Summary

ImageMagick before 6.9.13-58 and 7.x before 7.1.2-32 contains a security policy bypass caused by an incomplete fix for the bypass reported in GHSA-jjp4-3fwf-393j. An attacker able to supply input can evade configured security policy restrictions.

Risk Assessment

Bypassing the security policy may allow operations that should be blocked, increasing the risk of further exploitation. Organizations relying on ImageMagick security policies are exposed.

Recommendation

Update ImageMagick to version 6.9.13-58 or 7.1.2-33 (or later). Verify the effectiveness of configured security policies after updating.
