CVE-2026-116140

LowCVSS 3.3
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Exploitation Probability (EPSS)

Low risk
0.13%

3th percentile - higher than 3% of all known CVEs

Summary

ImageMagick before 6.9.13-58 and 7.x before 7.1.2-33 incorrectly parses delegate invocations, which can allow an executable blocked in policy.xml to still run. An attacker who gets ImageMagick to process input that triggers a delegate invocation can bypass the administrator-defined policy and execute the blocked program.

Risk Assessment

Bypassing the security policy may allow execution of unauthorized programs, potentially leading to code execution in the context of the image-processing process. This poses a serious risk to system integrity and confidentiality.

Recommendation

Update ImageMagick to version 6.9.13-58 or 7.1.2-33 (or later). Review policy.xml rules and restrict processing of untrusted input.
