CVE-2026-115938
HighCVSS 8.8Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk31th percentile - higher than 31% of all known CVEs
Summary
Craft CMS allows any authenticated control panel user to submit an element-search condition whose selector is evaluated as a sandboxed Twig object template; the allowed column filter delegates property lookup to Yii ArrayHelper outside Twig's SecurityPolicy, bypassing the sandbox to recover GeneralConfig::securityKey and then forge signed parameters that invoke native PHP callables.
Risk Assessment
An authenticated control panel user can recover the security key and forge signed requests, leading to remote code execution on the server.
Recommendation
Update Craft CMS to a patched version and restrict control panel access to trusted users only.
Other vulnerabilities in Craft CMS
See all- CVE-2026-84802Medium
Craft CMS versions from 5.7.0 before 5.10.12 contain an information disclosure vulnerability in AssetsController::actionMoveInfo that fails to enforce volume permissions. Authenticated control panel users can submit POST requests to the assets/move-info endpoint with arbitrary folderIds to retrieve asset count and total storage size for volumes they cannot access.
- CVE-2026-84801High
Craft CMS versions before 5.10.11 fail to validate admin status in the actionGetPasswordResetUrl endpoint, allowing non-admin users with administrateUsers permission to mint password reset URLs for administrator accounts. Attackers can generate a valid reset URL and set a new password, enabling complete control-panel takeover.
- CVE-2026-84800High
Craft CMS versions >= 5.0.0-RC1 and < 5.10.11 contain a missing authorization vulnerability in AssetsController::actionReplaceFile. When a request supplies sourceAssetId and targetFilename but omits assetId, the replacePeerFiles permission is never enforced, allowing an authenticated low-privilege author with replaceFiles permission to overwrite peer asset files.
- CVE-2026-84798High
Craft CMS versions >= 5.0.0-RC1 and < 5.10.11 fail to perform an independent authorization check in ElementsController::actionDeleteForSite(). The method checks permissions only against the user's own provisional draft, then deletes the canonical element without re-checking, allowing an authenticated user without deleteEntriesForSite permission to hard-delete entries.
- CVE-2026-84797Medium
Craft CMS versions before 5.10.11 contain an authorization bypass vulnerability in ElementsController::actionDuplicate() that allows authenticated users with createEntries permission to delete peer provisional drafts. Attackers can exploit the deleteProvisionalDraft parameter to delete another user's unsaved draft without proper authorization checks, gaining access to the victim's in-progress content.
- CVE-2026-84796High
Craft CMS versions before 5.10.11 contain a site scope bypass vulnerability in GraphQL entry mutation resolvers that fail to validate siteId through ArgumentManager::prepareArguments(). Attackers with tokens scoped to one site can read, modify, or delete entries across unauthorized sites.
- CVE-2026-84793Medium
Craft CMS versions from 5.0.0-RC1 before 5.10.11 contain a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the site name field that fails to sanitize input. Administrators can inject arbitrary JavaScript payloads in the site name that execute when other users view the control panel settings pages.
- CVE-2026-84792Medium
Craft CMS versions before 5.10.11 contain a broken access control vulnerability in the element-indexes/save-elements endpoint that allows control panel users to move entries into sections they cannot edit. Attackers with limited section permissions can relocate or publish entries to unauthorized sections by overwriting the sectionId attribute after initial authorization checks, bypassing the destination section permission validation.
- CVE-2026-31266High
Craft CMS version 5.9.5 and earlier contains a Missing Authorization vulnerability in the migrate endpoint (/actions/app/migrate).
- CVE-2026-112776Critical
Craft CMS from 5.0.0 before 5.11.0 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability that allows site-scoped GraphQL tokens to mutate other sites' content because requireAllowedSite() is not enforced. Attackers holding a site-A token can create entries in site B via supplied siteId and delete entries, categories, tags, and assets shared across sites.
Original NVD description (English source)
Craft CMS allows any authenticated control panel user to submit an element-search condition whose element selector is evaluated as a sandboxed Twig object template. Craft’s allowed column filter delegates property lookup to Yii ArrayHelper, outside Twig’s SecurityPolicy. Repeated single-segment lookups therefore bypass the sandbox’s empty property/method allowlists. The vulnerable condition value is ultimately cast to an integer. That does not protect the secret: the template can return author ID 1 when a guessed key character is correct and an impossible ID otherwise. The JSON endpoint returns entries for the first case and an empty array for the second, forming a stable remote character oracle. After recovering GeneralConfig::securityKey, the same user can compute Craft’s generic HMAC wire format offline. Signed parameters such as redirect are then accepted and passed to unsandboxed View::renderObjectTemplate(), where Twig’s string-callable form can invoke native PHP callables. The regression proof uses the harmless substr() callback and observes abcdef becoming cdef; it does not execute an OS command.
