Summary

A flaw was found in WildFly allowing a remote attacker to bypass authentication on IIOP EJB invocations. The CSIv2 security interceptor accepts ITTPrincipalName identity assertions in the service context without verifying transport-level authentication, letting a pre-auth attacker on port 3528 impersonate any principal on every IIOP-exposed @Remote EJB.

Risk Assessment

An attacker can gain unauthorized access to remote EJB components and perform actions as any user, potentially leading to data compromise and application takeover. The risk applies to any WildFly deployment exposing remote EJBs over IIOP.

Recommendation

Update WildFly to a version containing the fix or restrict access to port 3528 to trusted networks only. Consider disabling unused remote EJBs exposed over IIOP.
