CVE Catalog

CVE-2026-114421

HighCVSS 8.3
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

SEPPmail Secure Email Gateway before 15.1.1 permits password recovery for a created but unregistered GINA account whose initial password is empty without adequately verifying ownership. A remote unauthenticated attacker who identifies such an account can set a new password, authenticate as that account, and prevent the intended recipient from using it until recovery.

Risk Assessment

An attacker could take over an unregistered GINA account and impersonate it, locking out the legitimate user and potentially gaining access to resources.

Recommendation

Upgrade SEPPmail Secure Email Gateway to version 15.1.1 or later. Until patched, identify and remove or secure unregistered GINA accounts with empty passwords.
