CVE-2026-114112
HighCVSS 8.9Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk8th percentile - higher than 8% of all known CVEs
Summary
Sharp before 0.35.4 bundles a vulnerable libheif dependency that allows attackers to achieve possible remote code execution on glibc-based Linux by supplying crafted images. Attackers can submit malicious AVIF/HEIF input to applications processing untrusted images with sharp, triggering libheif decoding flaws to execute code.
Risk Assessment
Remote code execution on an image-processing server may lead to full system compromise.
Recommendation
Upgrade the sharp library to version 0.35.4 or later.
Other vulnerabilities in sharp
See all- GHSA-f88m-g3jw-g9cjHigh
Several vulnerabilities have been discovered and fixed in the upstream libvips dependency, two rated as high severity using CVSSv4. Versions of sharp prior to 0.35.0 processing untrusted input are affected.
- GHSA-2464-fhr4-w9xwCritical
A memory-related vulnerability has been discovered in an upstream library used for Image Optimization in Next.js, which can lead to possible remote code execution (RCE) when Next.js runs on glibc-based Linux. The issue affects sharp versions older than 0.35.5.
- CVE-2026-114113High
Sharp before 0.35.0 bundles a version of libvips affected by multiple vulnerabilities (CVE-2026-33327, CVE-2026-33328, CVE-2026-35590, CVE-2026-35591 and CVE-2026-69242) in its GIF, TIFF and VIPS image decoders. Attackers can supply crafted GIF, TIFF or VIPS files to applications using sharp to process untrusted input, triggering these libvips flaws.
- CVE-2026-114111High
Sharp before 0.35.5 bundles a librsvg dependency affected by a memory-related vulnerability (CVE-2026-96889) that, under certain runtime-specific conditions, can lead to code execution on glibc-based Linux. An attacker can supply a crafted SVG image that, when decoded by sharp through librsvg, may result in arbitrary code execution.
- CVE-2026-53634Medium
Sharp, a Laravel content management framework, from version 9.0.0 to before 9.22.3 does not enforce authorization checks on the create and store endpoints of the Quick Creation Command feature. An authenticated Sharp user without create permission on a given entity can bypass authorization and create new records for that entity if a Quick Creation Command handler is configured.
- CVE-2026-44692High
Sharp, a CMS framework for Laravel, prior to version 9.22.0 exposes a generic download endpoint that authorizes access only to the entity instance but reads the target disk and path from request parameters. An authenticated Sharp user who can view one valid record may use it as an authorization anchor to download unrelated objects from Laravel Storage disks.
- CVE-2025-62798Medium
Sharp is a content management framework built for Laravel as a package. Prior to 9.11.1, a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in code16/sharp when rendering content using the SharpShowTextField component. In affected versions, expressions wrapped in {{ & }} were evaluated by Vue. This allowed attackers to inject arbitrary JavaScript or HTML that executes in the browser when the field is displayed. The issue has been fixed in v9.11.1.
