CVE Catalog

CVE-2026-112941

LowCVSS 3.3
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

In filelock from 4.1.0 until 4.2.1, SoftReadWriteLock and AsyncSoftReadWriteLock cache a successful check of the <path>.rw lock tree and resolve its names again during later record operations, allowing another local user who can replace that tree after the first acquisition to redirect lock-record writes into directories writable by the lock user.

Risk Assessment

Another local user can redirect lock-record writes into directories they can access, potentially disrupting the locking mechanism or manipulating files. This may lead to unexpected behavior in applications using filelock.

Recommendation

Upgrade filelock to version 4.2.1 or later. Limit the number of local users with access to directories used by filelock.
