24th percentile - higher than 24% of all known CVEs

Summary

FreeRDP versions from 2.0.0 before 3.32.0 contain a heap out-of-bounds write in the server hash-callback NTLM path that fails to validate the MIC offset. Unauthenticated attackers can send a crafted AUTHENTICATE_MESSAGE with a backward session-key offset and MIC offset to write 16 zero bytes beyond the allocation.

Risk Assessment

An unauthenticated attacker can remotely trigger a heap out-of-bounds write, potentially leading to a crash or code execution on the FreeRDP server. The risk is high for RDP servers exposed to untrusted networks.

Recommendation

Update FreeRDP to version 3.32.0 or later. Restrict access to RDP services from untrusted networks until patched.
