CVE-2026-111373

MediumCVSS 5.3
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

FreeRDP before 3.32.0 contains a NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in the websocket transport. A malicious gateway can send zero-length pings, causing a nullptr stream to be passed to websocket_reply_close and crashing the client.

Risk Assessment

An attacker can remotely crash the FreeRDP client, causing denial of service. This may disrupt users relying on RDP connections over websocket.

Recommendation

Update FreeRDP to version 3.32.0 or later. Avoid connecting to untrusted websocket gateways.

Original NVD description (English source)

FreeRDP before 3.32.0 contains a NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in the websocket transport that allows a malicious gateway to crash clients by sending zero-length pings. When the payload length is zero, websocket_reply_pong passes a nullptr stream to websocket_reply_close, triggering an assertion failure that terminates the client process and causes denial of service.
