CVE-2026-111330
MediumCVSS 5.9Summary
JuggleIM im-server through 1.8.16 stores admin console passwords as unsalted SHA-1 digests via tools.SHA1 in services/accountservice.go. Attackers who obtain the accounts table through database access or backups can crack console passwords using precomputed tables or GPU brute force.
Risk Assessment
A leaked backup or database access allows rapid recovery of administrator passwords and takeover of the management console. Unsalted SHA-1 is vulnerable to dictionary and rainbow table attacks.
Recommendation
Upgrade im-server beyond 1.8.16 if available and switch hashing to salted bcrypt/Argon2. Immediately rotate admin console passwords and restrict access to database backups.
