CVE-2026-111324

MediumCVSS 5.3
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

rustdesk-api through 2.7 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to overwrite existing peer records by supplying only a target device ID to POST /api/sysinfo. Attackers can overwrite hostname, username, OS and uuid without uuid verification, then log in presenting that uuid to rebind the peer to their account.

Risk Assessment

An unauthenticated attacker can take over existing peer devices in the RustDesk system, leading to unauthorized remote access. This can result in full compromise of remote sessions and confidentiality breaches.

Recommendation

Upgrade rustdesk-api beyond 2.7 if available and enforce uuid verification and authentication on the /api/sysinfo endpoint. Consider restricting API access at the network level to trusted clients.
