CVE-2026-110635

CriticalCVSS 9.8
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

webp-converter before 3.0.0 contains an OS command injection vulnerability in src/webpconverter.js helpers that run libwebp binaries via execFile with shell enabled. Attackers controlling file names or option strings passed to cwebp, dwebp, gwebp, or webpmux functions can inject shell metacharacters to execute OS commands as the Node.js process.

Risk Assessment

An attacker can execute arbitrary commands in the context of the Node.js application, potentially leading to server compromise, data theft, or further privilege escalation.

Recommendation

Update webp-converter to version 3.0.0 or later, or validate and sanitize file names and option strings before passing them to cwebp, dwebp, gwebp, and webpmux functions.
