Summary

SmsForwarder through 3.5.0 contains a missing authentication vulnerability in its AndServer HTTP server that allows unauthenticated network attackers to invoke remote-control APIs. Attackers can call the default-enabled endpoints to read SMS, call logs and contacts, send SMS, and export or overwrite configuration via the clone API.

Risk Assessment

An unauthenticated network attacker can access private data (SMS, contacts, call logs) and take control of the application configuration. This can lead to leakage of personal data and abuse on behalf of the user.

Recommendation

Update SmsForwarder to a version later than 3.5.0. Restrict network access to the AndServer and do not expose it outside a trusted network.
