CVE-2026-109998

HighCVSS 7.2
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

The Mang Board plugin for WordPress (versions up to and including 2.4.3) is vulnerable to stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) via the 'content' parameter due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. An unauthenticated attacker can inject arbitrary web scripts into pages that execute when a user accesses the injected page.

Risk Assessment

An attacker can execute arbitrary JavaScript in a victim's browser, potentially leading to session theft, account takeover, or page content modification. The vulnerability is easily exploitable because the wp_ajax_nopriv_mb_template endpoint is publicly accessible without authentication.

Recommendation

Update the Mang Board plugin to a version newer than 2.4.3 as soon as it becomes available. Until then, consider disabling the plugin or restricting access to the admin-ajax.php endpoint.

Original NVD description (English source)

The Mang Board plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'content' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 2.4.3 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This is exploitable because the wp_ajax_nopriv_mb_template endpoint is publicly accessible without authentication, nonce verification is not enforced for the content_reply mode, and admin-ajax.php responds with Content-Type: text/html, causing browsers to execute injected tags embedded in the JSON response body.
