Summary

The MB Custom Post Types & Custom Taxonomies WordPress plugin before 2.12.2 does not perform a capability check or validate a nonce on its migration actions. This allows any authenticated user, such as a subscriber, to trigger a one-way migration that creates published records and permanently deletes the plugin's entire post-type and taxonomy configuration.

Risk Assessment

A low-privileged authenticated user can permanently destroy the post-type and taxonomy configuration and create unwanted published records, leading to data loss and site disruption.

Recommendation

Update the MB Custom Post Types & Custom Taxonomies plugin to version 2.12.2 or later. Until patched, restrict site access to trusted users only.
