MediumCVSS 4.3
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

SurrealDB before 3.3.0 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability that allows record users to read fields hidden by field-level SELECT permissions through LIVE SELECT projections. Attackers can project restricted fields from the unreduced $after or $before parameters under an alias to receive exact stored values in CREATE, UPDATE, and DELETE notifications.

Risk Assessment

An attacker can access confidential data that should be protected, leading to information disclosure. This can breach data security and customer trust.

Recommendation

Update SurrealDB to version 3.3.0 or later. Restrict the ability to use LIVE SELECT projections for record users.
