CVE-2026-109282

LowCVSS 2.5
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

ImageMagick before 6.9.13-57 and 7.1.2-32 contains a type confusion flaw in the INFO, JSON, and YAML encoders when writing compressed images, causing an unexpected pointer type. An attacker can trigger a process crash via SIGABRT or SIGSEGV, leading to denial of service.

Risk Assessment

Attackers can crash the process, causing denial of service in environments where ImageMagick processes images.

Recommendation

Update ImageMagick to 6.9.13-57 (for 6.x) or 7.1.2-32 (for 7.x) and avoid processing untrusted compressed images.

Original NVD description (English source)

ImageMagick before 6.9.13-57 and 7.x before 7.1.2-32 contains a type confusion flaw in the INFO, JSON and YAML encoders, where an internal method receives a pointer of an unexpected type when writing an image in a compressed format. An attacker who can cause such an image write can trigger a SIGABRT or SIGSEGV, crashing the process and causing denial of service.
